Virtual Programs

As our City makes the monumental shift to distance learning, we are continuing to teach arts and social justice to Bronx youth. Through both in school and out of school programming, our teaching artists are utilizing Google Classroom and Zoom to regularly lead classes on visual art, poetry, music production and more!

Art Center Programs

Our free, student-centered after school and weekend art classes are now virtual! All of our Kindergarten through 12th grade classes will be engaging with Teaching Artists and students in our online classrooms, as we build community and make art for social change.

Work-Based Learning

Though the City has decided to halt its annual Summer Youth Employment Program, we are committed to offer our students fully-virtual, paid, multi-week creative career internships in July and August. Career exploration opportunities for our youth must continue! Help us make it possible. If you are an employer interested in partnering to provide these opportunities, please contact us at tburton@dreamyard.com.

In School Programs

Over 100 classes across our 50+ partner schools have moved online. DreamYard’s Teaching Artists are utilizing Google Classroom and other platforms to connect with our young people and use the arts as a tool for students to express themselves and to maintain connection to who they are and community around them. Stay tuned for a collection of DreamYard’s virtual lessons across artforms—including visual art, poetry, theater, and more!

BX Start Programs

As part of our mission to build Creative Career Pathways for Bronx youth, we’ve opened up the Bronx’s very own Gaming and Entrepreneurship Center, BX Start. All of our BX Start programming has shifted online, including our Media Production class, in which our students explore how to edit videos on WeVideo and utilize cell phones and accessible tech as tools for content creation.
