For The Nurture & Liberate Summer 2021, we’ve offered multiple fully virtual learning opportunities for Bronx youth!

Through paid work-based learning internships with partner organizations like Musical Theater Factory and Fjord, as well as our nationally recognized arts programming, our young people have created artwork, honed their technical skills, and deepened connections with both peers and industry professionals.

Our young artists responded to the global pandemic and uprisings through their art. We explored the theme of Nurture and Liberate, by using art to investigate our social conditions and reality, and to create a world of liberation. We seek to inspire our young people to tell their stories of this time, in hopes that we never forget how we arrived at this moment and also in service of future generations’ struggle for liberation for all Black and Brown people.

…the power of the movement came from the masses, from a century or two of their ancestors, under acute distress, elaborating a vision of the future and how it might be attained.
