DreamYard works entirely in the Bronx, a borough that possesses incredible cultural, human and economic assets. The organization believes that the arts, a social justice education, and access to digital tools are a necessary part of developing those assets to their greatest potential.

150 art residencies in visual art, theater, maker, chorus, dance, poetry, and music in 45 Bronx public schools

Hosts the Bronx Arts Festival, the largest in the Bronx, last year over 150 pieces of art were on display, 900 young artists from 37 school performed, and 70 kids participated in our maker fair

DREAMYARD PREPARATORY HIGH SCHOOL

  • Has a 16% higher graduation rate than the average Bronx high school
  • Students who go on to college are in the top 1% of NYC public school students in matriculating through college

COMMUNITY BEAUTIFICATION

  • Opened Hayden Lord Park in 2013.  The park has an organic farm, magnificent mosaic art installations, jungle gym, and hosts summer activities and partner school graduations in its space
  • Thousands of volunteers have worked alongside young people and veterans to add flowers and plants to gardens and tree beds across the Bronx
