DreamYard is an arts education organization that brings comprehensive, long-term arts residencies to schools and community programs in underserved neighborhoods. Since 1994, DreamYard has been dedicated to collaborating with public schools and communities to build an educational pathway for young people in grades K through 12 in which the arts are an integral part of how children learn. DreamYard programs include school-based, yearlong residencies, after school arts companies and a year-round arts and community activism program known as the DreamYard ACTION Project.

Each day, I am inspired by my colleagues [at DreamYard] and also by our school partners. I value being a part of a team that supports and encourages each other to always be our best and to constantly seek new opportunities in our own personal and professional growth.

DreamYard Teaching Artists are hired on a part or full time basis. Besides teaching duties teaching artists are also called up to be active members of the school communities in which they work, helping to build local cultures of teaching and learning in and through the arts. In addition to teaching, growth within the organization is possible through opportunities to lead after school and Saturday programs, mentor fellow teaching artists, lead professional development workshops, and manage school sites.
