I find it very powerful to watch young people combine their own stories, imagination and self-expression to further understand themselves and the world. I teach because the students teach me.

I became a teaching artist because I enjoy being a part of a child's creative process.

As a professional actor in New York, I run into a lot of performers who just want that one goal....that one break... to be a "star"! As a Dream Yard artist-in-residence, I have an opportunity to help students find their own creativity...their own "star". The rewards definitely outweigh the challenges at the end of each teaching year . That's what it means to be a true artist...to pass on...what has been so generously given to you!
