Working at DreamYard
Application to be a Dreamyard teaching artist.
DreamYard Overview
DreamYard is an arts education organization that brings comprehensive, long-term arts residencies to schools and community programs in underserved neighborhoods. Since 1994, DreamYard has been dedicated to collaborating with public schools and communities to build an educational pathway for young people in grades K through 12 in which the arts are an integral part of how children learn. DreamYard programs include school-based, yearlong residencies, after school arts companies and a year-round arts and community activism program known as the DreamYard ACTION Project.
DreamYard Teaching Artists are hired on a part or full time basis. Besides teaching duties teaching artists are also called up to be active members of the school communities in which they work, helping to build local cultures of teaching and learning in and through the arts.
